As I sit in the departure lounge for my flight to Mumbai I was thinking about what emotions we will all feel tomorrow when see Sachin walk out representing India for the last time. This isn’t just another test match. In fact how many of us have even thought about the opposition and about the game itself? This is Sachin’s match. This is our opportunity to say THANK YOU to a once child genius who grew into a man the cricketing world idolised and all Indians around the world worshiped.
I’m not sure who i will feel when he walks off the field for the last time but what I can say is that I was on of the lucky ones. Lucky because I lived to see the greatest cricketer of all time play out his career in front of my eyes.
Being 2 years younger than Sachin i was able to follow his career thorough out. My very first experience was when my dad took me to see him live in 1990 at Trent Bridge in the Texaco Trophy v England where he destroyed Gladstone Small, Gus Fraser and co at the age of 16. Did any of us really know then what he would achieve over 20 years later?
I’m pleased to say the Bharat Army will have strong representation in Mumbai to give the little master a proper Bharat Army send off that we well and truly deserves.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Ashish and Vish from Bharat Army Mumabi who managed to get all those travelling to Mumbai tickets for the match. Ash and Vish have been part of the Bharat Army since 2003 and also got us all tickets for the World Cup Final in 2011. Thanks again guys.
The Bharat Army will be blogging thorough out the Test match so look out for updates.Raks Bharat Army
